About Reserva Provincial Laguna Negra
The Reserva Provincial Laguna Negra lies on the northeast shore of Lago Khami, west of Tolhuin. Its name comes from the lagoon separated from the large lake by a cord of gravel associated with ground movements. The visit brings you closer to the forest and the changing coastal landscape.
The interpretive trail Paisaje en Movimiento helps observe the relationships between water, vegetation and relief. There is an entrance at the northern sector, reached by vehicle, and pedestrian access from the shore of Lago Khami. These routes are not equivalent in distance from town.
Choose your access point before starting the walk and allow time for the return. From November to March the additional daylight hours usually make planning easier. Wet ground requires hiking footwear in any month. Stay on the designated walkways and do not make shortcuts through the forest or along the lagoon edge.
