About Conjunto Jesuítico Guaraní de Santa Ana

The Conjunto Jesuítico Guaraní de Santa Ana brings together remains of an ancient people on the outskirts of the present-day town. The mission underwent relocations before settling in southern Misiones. The site is part of the Jesuit Missions World Heritage and has an interpretation center, trails through the vegetation and specialized guides.

The temple's stairways, in a semicircular shape, help perceive the difference in level between spaces. Pink sandstone appears in the remains of walls and structures. As you walk, visitors can relate the old temple to housing sectors and cultivation areas, without finding a fully reconstructed church.

The garden was laid out on terraces to follow the slope of the land. Walls, a pond and channels show water management in the reduction. These elements make Santa Ana a visit also focused on the engineering of the former inhabitants: the interpretation paths connect architecture, cultivation and water circulation. Set aside time to walk through the sectors.
