About La Aripuca
La Aripuca is located on the outskirts of Puerto Iguazú, near Ruta Nacional 12. The central element is a log structure inspired by an aripuca, the traditional Guaraní trap. On an enlarged scale, it displays different woods from the Misiones forest.
The visit invites you to observe the logs, the species and the assembly work of the structure. The theme is the relationship between the use of wood and the conservation of the forest environment. The aripuca functions as an interpretive object, not as a historical construction of a Jesuit mission.
Book a separate visit, which can be combined with the rest of your day in town. From April to September the heat is usually less intense; from October to March the outdoor visit requires hydration and protection. Check admission before you go and allow time to look at the details, rather than reducing the structure to a quick stop in front of the facade.
