About Conjunto Jesuítico Guaraní Nuestra Señora de Loreto

The conjunto of Nuestra Señora de Loreto preserves remains of a Jesuit-Guaraní community close to the present town. The ruins are part of the missionary heritage recognized by UNESCO and are crossed by paths that bring visitors closer to the historic spaces. The interpretation center helps to understand the former settlement.

Loreto followed a trajectory tied to spirituality and cultural production. The Via Procesional connects the Capilla de la Virgen de Loreto, the area of the temple where the relics of Padre Antonio Ruiz de Montoya were venerated, and the Capilla del Monte del Calvario. It is a route more extensive than viewing a façade, with vegetation among the remains.

During the visit, the low walls, the temple spaces and the paths show how the current landscape preserves parts of the former community. Local guidance helps distinguish archaeological structures from later interventions. Use the visitor paths and allow time to interpret the spaces before continuing on RN12.
