About Monumento Retorno a la Patria

The Monument Retorno a la Patria is located on the Manzano Histórico circuit, in Los Chacayes. Luis Perlotti's work was inaugurated in 1950 and honors San Martín's return to Argentina via the Portillo pass. The memory of that route is the central theme of the composition.

Stone, travertine marble and bronze form a set of volumes and reliefs. The work can be observed from the paved area at its base, recognizing the figures and the stepped organization. The slopes behind the monument keep the link between the tribute and the mountain setting.

Include a stop with time to look at the details, rather than using the monument only as a marker for a quick photograph. The visit is outdoors and can accompany the route through the Manzano core. Nearby museums have their own service modes and are not automatically part of this visit.
