About Plaza Belgrano
Plaza Belgrano occupies the historic center of San Salvador de Jujuy. Around it are the cathedral, the Cabildo and the Casa de Gobierno, which help to understand the organization of the provincial capital. The monument to Manuel Belgrano marks the central area, among promenades and trees.
The square was the scene of events linked to Argentine independence and the history of the flag. Today it is also a space of daily circulation, with benches and flowerbeds. A walk around the perimeter allows you to compare façades from different periods and choose the next building to visit.
Allow time to walk it without turning the square into just a stop for a photograph. It serves as a starting point to get to know the center, while internal visits to the buildings require their own time. In the months from December to March rains are more frequent; bring a layer for temperature changes.
