About Cerro Campanario
Cerro Campanario is located in the section of avenida Bustillo used to access the Circuito Chico. From the top, the landscape brings together the Nahuel Huapi lake, Lago Moreno and peninsulas covered by forest. The elevated position allows you to compare the arms of water with the mountains in the background.
The ascent can be made by the lift or by the trail, depending on the available option and the visitor’s fitness. Walking requires taking the elevation change and the return into account; the visit to the lookout should not be confused with a stop at avenida level.
Allow time for the different sides of the viewpoint. Visibility changes with clouds, rain and wind, and it can be colder at the top than in the urban center. Check the trail conditions and the lift’s operation before going, and keep the outing flexible within your days in Bariloche.

How much time to set aside
About one to two hours; the walk can increase the total time.
Best time
Choose a period with favorable visibility forecast. From December to March days are usually longer; between June and September, prepare clothing for colder conditions.
How to get there
Leave the center via avenida Bustillo to the area around kilometer 17.5. There is city transport in that direction, as well as cars and excursions. Check the stop and the return before organizing the route.
Tip
Use a windbreaker layer even when the departure from the center seems mild. Weigh the time available and the effort of the trail against the option of taking the lift.
