About MedienHafen
The MedienHafen occupies part of Düsseldorf's former commercial port, south of the Rheinturm. Since the 1990s warehouses and quays have been converted or replaced by new buildings housing media, advertising, fashion and design firms.
The best-known ensemble is the Neuer Zollhof, three curving buildings designed by architect Frank Gehry and opened in 1999: one clad in mirrored metal, one in white stucco and one in brick. Around them are buildings by other noted architects, alongside preserved cranes and old tracks.
At night the district offers restaurants, bars and a cinema by the water. From here you get a close view of the Rheinturm and the Rhine promenade leads back to the Altstadt.
