About Kunstpalast

The Kunstpalast is the city of Düsseldorf's art museum, founded in 1913. It occupies part of the Ehrenhof, a brick building complex erected in 1925 and 1926 by architect Wilhelm Kreis for a major exhibition on health, social welfare and physical exercise, beside the Reno and the Hofgarten.

The collection ranges from old master paintings, such as those by Rubens, to design and contemporary art, including work from the Düsseldorf school of the 19th century. The museum also houses the Glasmuseum Hentrich, which holds one of Europe's major glass collections.

Temporary exhibitions featuring well-known names in modern and contemporary art draw large crowds. Children and teenagers up to 17 years old enter free.
