About Königsallee
The Königsallee, known as the Kö to locals, is Düsseldorf's best-known boulevard and one of Europe's most famous luxury shopping streets. It runs north–south through the city centre and is about 87 meters wide from facade to facade.
Running down the middle is the old city moat, the Kö-Graben, a canal lined with trees and stone bridges. There are four walkways: two beside the canal and two beside the buildings. The east side houses the designer boutiques and galleries; the quieter west side hosts banks and offices. At the northern end of the canal sits the Triton fountain.
The northern end of the Kö adjoins the Hofgarten, the large central park, opened in the 18th century and regarded as Germany's first public park. Nearby is the Kö-Bogen complex, with buildings featuring cut facades covered in plants.
