About Piz Nair

Piz Nair lies northwest of St. Moritz, above the Corviglia area. The cable car takes you from Corviglia, at 2,489 m, up to the top of Piz Nair at 3,057 m, where there is a terrace and a restaurant with views over the Engadina valley and surrounding peaks.

From St. Moritz Dorf, two funiculars in sequence climb to Chantarella and Corviglia on a route of about 2 km and 700 m of elevation gain; the first section has operated since 1913 and the second since 1928. Another access is the Signal cable car, which departs from St. Moritz Bad.

In winter, Piz Nair and Corviglia make up the St. Moritz ski area. In summer, trails descend from Corviglia to Marguns and to Celerina, and the Schellenursliweg path runs from Salastrains to St. Moritz Dorf.

The Piz Nair cable car’s summer season usually runs from late June to late October, and the winter season follows the ski calendar. Funiculars and cable cars close for maintenance part of the year: check operating times before you go up.
