About Olympia Bob Run St. Moritz–Celerina
The Olympia Bob Run links St. Moritz to Celerina over 1.722 m of track, with 130 m of vertical drop and curves named Snake and Horse Shoe. It opened in 1904 and hosted the bobsleigh events at the 1928 and 1948 Winter Olympic Games.
The track is entirely natural ice. Every winter a team rebuilds it in about three weeks, using snow and water, on the same layout. That means the season depends on cold weather and usually runs from late December to early March.
Visitors can ride down as passengers in a four-person bob driven by a pilot — the bob taxi — by reservation. Those who don't want to descend can watch training sessions and races along the track.
Nearby is the Cresta Run, a natural-ice track of about 1.2 km created at the end of the 19th century, where riders go headfirst on a skeleton-type sled. It is run by a private club, the St. Moritz Tobogganing Club.
