About Montreux Noël
Montreux Noël sets up its Christmas market on the city's quays, from late November until December 24. There are more than 150 chalets of artisans and traders, between the CGN boat quay and the Place du Marché, with the covered market as one of the main points.
In the chalets you'll find gifts, crafts, sweets and hot food, such as fondue and mulled wine, which are part of the winter tradition in the region.
Among the attractions is the Père Noël Volant, a Santa Claus who crosses Montreux's sky above the quay. On certain dates, a Belle Époque boat takes visitors to watch the flight from the lake.
High on the Rochers-de-Naye the festivities continue at the Maison du Père Noël, Santa's house, which opens in November and December with advance reservation. The ascent is made by the rack railway that leaves from Montreux.
