About Chaplin's World
Charlie Chaplin moved to Switzerland in 1953 and lived at the Manoir de Ban in Corsier-sur-Vevey with his wife Oona and their eight children until his death in 1977. In 2016 the house and grounds became the Chaplin's World museum.
The visit begins with the manor, showing the family's rooms, personal belongings and wax figures. The rooms reveal the family side of the artist during his Swiss years.
In the studio building, sets recreate scenes from Chaplin's films, with excerpts of the original films playing alongside.
The four-hectare park has lawns, old trees and views over the Léman and the Alps. The museum café is named after the Tramp, the character Chaplin created in silent cinema, in English The Tramp.
