How many days
Two or three days: one for Conwy, with the castle, the walls and Plas Mawr, and one for Llandudno and the Great Orme. A third day is for Eryri, by train or the Yr Wyddfa trail, or for the garden at Bodnant.
When to go
From May to September, with the Snowdon train running and long days; the laburnum tunnel at Bodnant usually blooms in late May. July and August are busy on the coast. In winter, several attractions close or reduce opening hours.
The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.
Do you need a car?
You don't need one for Conwy and Llandudno, which are linked by train and bus. For Bodnant and the mountains, a car helps, although there is the Sherpa'r Wyddfa bus in the national park. Drive on the left, and the mountain roads are narrow.
