About WOW – World of Wine
The WOW – World of Wine occupies restored former Port wine warehouses on the slope above the Cais de Gaia and opened in 2020. The stone buildings, some over three centuries old, stored the pipes that arrived from the Douro for generations.
The quarter brings together several themed, interactive museums, including one dedicated to wine and Portugal's wine regions, another to cork, another to chocolate with on-site production, and another to the history of Porto.
There is also a wine school offering tastings and short courses, temporary exhibitions, shops and about a dozen restaurants and bars.
The central square and terraces overlook the river and the Ribeira on the opposite bank.
