How many days

Two days are enough for the historic centre, the Ponta da Piedade, the beaches and a day in Sagres. Those coming for the beach can use Lagos as a base for a week.

When to go

June to September is best for beaches and boat trips to the grottos. In May and October the town is usually quieter, with still-warm days. Winter is mild, good for walking along the cliffs.

The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.

Do you need a car?

In the centre and for the beaches near town, no: everything can be done on foot. For Sagres and the Cabo de São Vicente, car or bus.
