It has a walled historic center with the Duomo di Como, a lakeside promenade to walk to Villa Olmo, the Tempio Voltiano dedicated to Alessandro Volta, and the funicular up to Brunate with views of the lake. It is from Como that boats depart for Bellagio and the towns on the lake.
