Approximate road distances. Check flights and bus schedules before you travel.
Confirm before buying. The most used airport is Nápoles (NAP). From Rome or Nápoles, take the train to Salerno and a boat or SITA bus to Amalfi. From Amalfi, a bus climbs to Ravello in about 25 minutes. Ravello has no port or station.
How many days
Half a day or a full day is enough for Villa Rufolo, Villa Cimbrone and the Duomo. Those seeking quiet stay overnight in Ravello and go down to Amalfi for the boats.
When to go
From April to October. The gardens are usually more in bloom in spring and early summer. The Ravello Festival takes place in summer, generally between July and September; check the schedule.
The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.
Do you need a car?
No. Buses link Ravello and Amalfi frequently, and the center is pedestrian. There are paid parking areas at the town entrance, but the access road is narrow and very winding.
