The city

What to expect from Kilkenny.

Kilkenny is the county town of the same name, on the banks of the rio Nore, with a medieval center of narrow streets and stone alleys. The Medieval Mile links the Castelo de Kilkenny, home of the Butler family, to the Catedral de St Canice and its round tower, passing the Medieval Mile Museum, Rothe House, the Black Abbey and the old Smithwick's brewery.
