About Port de Bonifacio

The port of Bonifácio lies at the end of a narrow, long inlet between the plateau of the upper town and the coast, sheltered from the open sea. It is a fishing and leisure port, full of sailboats and boats in season, with restaurants and shops on the quay.

From the quay depart boat trips along the coast. The short route passes the sea caves, like the Sdragonato, and runs along the limestone cliffs, from where you see the upper town hanging over the sea and the Escalier du Roi d'Aragon. Longer routes go to the Îles Lavezzi.

Ferries to Santa Teresa Gallura, in Sardenha, leave from a quay at the foot of the cliff. Buses arriving from Ajaccio and Porto-Vecchio also stop at the port, which serves as the town's gateway.

The season for trips usually runs from April to October, and departures depend on the wind, which is frequent in the strait.
