About Le Brévent
Le Brévent is in the Aiguilles Rouges, on the opposite side of the valley from the Mont Blanc. For that reason, from the summit at 2,525 meters the view faces the whole massif: Mont Blanc, the Aiguille du Midi and the Chamonix needles.
The ascent is made in two sections: a gondola from central Chamonix to Planpraz, around 2,000 meters, and then a cable car to the summit. At the top there is a panoramic terrace and a restaurant.
In summer, Planpraz is a starting point for trails and paragliding flights; in winter, Le Brévent and La Flégère form a ski area connected by cable car.
The cable car closes part of the year for maintenance, usually in spring and autumn. Check dates before you go.
