About La Flégère

La Flégère is the side of the Aiguilles Rouges above the village of Les Praz, north of central Chamonix. A gondola rises to the plateau at about 1,900 meters.

The view from there faces the Mer de Glace, the Aiguille du Dru and the Aiguille Verte, with Mont Blanc further south. In summer the plateau is the usual starting point for the Lac Blanc trail and for walks along the Grand Balcon Sud to Le Brévent.

In winter, La Flégère is a ski area linked to Le Brévent by cable car. The gondola runs in two seasons, summer and winter, and is closed between them, generally from September to November and in spring. Check dates before you go.
