About Jardins de l'Europe

The Jardins de l'Europe are a park on the shore of the Lac d'Annecy, on land reclaimed from the lake next to the town hall. They have large trees, some of species brought from several continents, and paths that follow the shoreline.

The park is linked to the Pâquier lawn by the Pont des Amours, an iron footbridge over the Vassé canal. The official name is Passerelle du Jardin public, but locals have long called it the Ponte dos Amores.

From the bridge you can see the canal with boats on one side and the lake with the mountains on the other, one of the most photographed views of Annecy. Sightseeing boats depart very close by, and the Pâquier lawn next to it is where locals gather on sunny days.
