About Mirador del Valle
The Mirador del Valle is on the other side of the Tejo, on a slope to the south of the city, next to the Carretera de Circunvalación, the road that follows the river's curve. From there you can see the entire historic quarter frontally, on the hill surrounded by the river on three sides.
From the viewpoint you can pick out, from left to right, the Alcázar, the Cathedral tower, the towers of the Iglesia de los Jesuitas and the domes and roofs of the Jewish quarter. Below flows the Tejo, between stone cliffs.
Near the viewpoint is the Ermita de Nuestra Señora del Valle, a small chapel that gives the place its name. The surroundings are a green area with dirt paths and rocks, used by the people of Toledo for walks.
It is the spot for panoramic photos of Toledo, by day and at night, when the monuments are usually lit up.

Practical information
Cidade Turismo reviews its information regularly, but something may have changed. Check with the place before planning your trip.
How much time to set aside
About 20 to 40 minutes.
Best time
In the late afternoon and at dusk, when the light hits the city from the side. In the Spanish summer, from June to August, the sun usually sets after 9:00 PM; in winter, from December to February, much earlier.
How to get there
It is about 1.5 km as the crow flies from the center, but on the other side of the river. Go by car, taxi or on the tourist train that goes around the city. On foot, cross the Puente de Alcántara or the one at San Martín and follow the road along the river, with an uphill section.
Tip
There is little shade and few facilities at the viewpoint: in hot weather, bring water and a hat. Those walking should allow time to return before dark, because part of the route runs alongside the road.
