About Garganta del Diablo
The Garganta del Diablo is a rock formation in the Quebrada de las Conchas, along the Ruta Nacional 68 corridor. Here the name refers to a narrow cavity between reddish walls, different from the homonymous waterfall at Iguazú. The visit is made from a roadside pull-off.
The tilted rock layers help identify the place. Erosion carved a corridor that deepens and changes the angle of the walls, forming a kind of gorge. From the lower area, the visitor can observe the height and arrangement of the strata without needing to climb the upper sections.
The ground is uneven, with dirt and stone, and requires sturdy footwear. Approach via the indicated path and keep an eye on the designated visitor areas. The stop can be combined with El Anfiteatro, nearby in the same corridor, but each formation has its own shape and deserves separate time.
