About Lago Espejo
Lago Espejo is one of the lakes associated with the route between Villa La Angostura and San Martín de los Andes. Forest and slopes line its shore, while the viewpoint allows you to observe the water from an elevated position. The name does not mean the reflection will appear on every visit: the surface changes with the wind.
There is a difference between stopping at the viewpoint and going down to a beach. Access to the beach sector uses a detour from Ruta 40 and should be chosen according to the desired activity and the transport available. For a day on the road, a viewing stop may be sufficient without spending a long time on the shore.
For a short roadside stop, choose the Lago Espejo viewpoint. Plan to park in the designated area and follow the signage to reach the observation sector. In cold months from June to September, check road conditions before leaving; from December to March, demand for the beach tends to be higher.
