The city

What to expect from Lübeck.

Lübeck was the most important city of the Hanseatic League and preserves its old town on an island surrounded by the river Trave, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. The Holstentor, the Rathaus, the Marienkirche, the Dom, the Heiligen-Geist-Hospital and the Europäisches Hansemuseum are within walking distance. The city is also known for the Niederegger marzipan, and the Travemünde district leads to the beach on the Baltic Sea.
