The city
Colônia is the largest city in Renânia do Norte-Vestfália and one of the oldest in Germany, founded by the Romans on the banks of the Reno. The Kölner Dom, the Gothic cathedral next to the central station, dominates the center. Nearby are the Hohenzollernbrücke, the Alter Markt with its Kölsch breweries, the Romanesque church Groß St. Martin and the Museum Ludwig. On the other bank, the KölnTriangle and the Rheinpark offer views of the city.
