About El Legado Bodega Boutique
El Legado is a family boutique winery in the Colonia Estrella region, a rural area a few kilometers from downtown Carmelo where vineyards have existed for more than a century. The property's first planting dates to 1968.
Production is small, focused on tannat and syrah, and the visits are led by the family. The tour passes through the vineyards and the winery and ends with a guided tasting.
Formats range from a tasting with a picada — a platter of cold cuts and cheeses typical of the Rio da Prata — to a fixed-menu paired lunch. The house also has a small guesthouse with views over the vineyards.
The Colonia Estrella region brings together other wineries and country stores, and the internal roads are quiet, good for exploring the area by car or by bicycle.
