About Männlichen

Männlichen is a ridge that separates the Grindelwald valley from the Lauterbrunnen valley. The gondola departs from Grindelwald Terminal and ascends about 1,200 m in roughly 19 minutes; on the other side, a cable car rises from Wengen.

From the top station, the Royal Walk leads to the summit, at 2,343 m, in about 15 to 30 minutes, with panels about the mountains. Up there, a viewpoint opens onto the Eiger, the Mönch and the Jungfrau and the two valleys.

The panoramic trail to Kleine Scheidegg takes about two and a half hours, a gentle descent along open slopes, with the north face of the Eiger ahead. At Kleine Scheidegg, the train descends to Grindelwald or to Wengen.

In winter Männlichen is a ski area. The gondolas have maintenance pauses mid-season; check operations before going up.
