About Quinta do Bomfim

Quinta do Bomfim lies on the north bank of the Douro, just east of the village of Pinhão. It belongs to the Symington family, one of the main producers of vinho do Porto since the late 19th century, and is the base for the Dow's label wines.

The visit takes you through the terraced vineyards, the old cellar with stone lagares, and a small museum about the estate's and family's history.

At the end there are tastings of vinho do Porto and Douro wines in various formats. The quinta also has a restaurant, open by reservation, with river views.

It is one of the easiest quintas to visit without a car, as it is just a few minutes on foot from Pinhão train station.
