About Meia Praia
Meia Praia stretches east of the city of Lagos, on the other side of the ribeira, for about 4 km of sand, up to near Odiáxere.
Unlike the beaches between cliffs on the west side, it is an open, flat beach with easy access and space even in the European summer.
Along the sand there are restaurants, beach bars and watersports schools, such as surfing and kitesurfing.
The view of Lagos Bay and Ponta da Piedade accompanies the whole walk along the sand. At the point next to the town is Lagos marina, from where boats leave for the caves, and the fort and the town walls can be seen on the other side of the ribeira.
