About Esplanade de Remich (Esplanada de Remich)

The esplanade of Remich is the tree-lined promenade that follows the Mosela bank through the town, between the border bridge and the centre. Lined with plane trees, benches and flower beds, it is where locals and visitors stroll, have a coffee or eat facing the river.

From the esplanade you can see the Mosela wide and calm, the barges moving up and down the river and, on the opposite bank, the German slopes covered in vineyards. Along the promenade are hotels, restaurants and ice-cream parlours, and it is from here that the region's sightseeing boats depart.

Boats typically operate from April to October, on short river stretches or on longer trips to Schengen and Grevenmacher, some with meals on board. The Mosela cycle path runs past the esplanade and continues through the valley villages.

Behind the esplanade, short streets rise to Remich's centre, with the church of Saint-Nicolas and remnants of the old town gates. In summer the esplanade hosts events and festivals, and at harvest time there are wine festivities.
