About Viña Santa Cruz
Viña Santa Cruz is located in the comuna of Lolol, about 25 km from the city of Santa Cruz, and is part of the Fundación Cardoen museum route. It is more than a cellar visit: the complex brings together vineyards, a cable car, museums and an astronomical observatory.
The cable car climbs Cerro Chamán, from where you can see the Lolol valley. At the top there are replicas of dwellings and constructions of Chile's indigenous peoples: a mapuche ruca, Andean aimará constructions and a replica of a rapa nui moai. The Observatorio Cerro Chamán operates on the same hill, alongside a meteorite museum, and nighttime observations are reserved for overnight guests.
Below, the Museo del Vino tells the story of the drink from the Egyptians, Greeks and Romans, with amphorae, colonial presses and an interactive aroma area. The Museo del Automóvil gathers dozens of cars and motorcycles, including a DeLorean. The cellar tour passes the barrel room and ends with a tasting; the winery runs on solar energy.
