About Viña Laura Hartwig
Viña Laura Hartwig is on Camino Barreales, at the west exit of Santa Cruz, a little over one kilometer from the Plaza de Armas. It is a family property, with the house, the winery and the vineyards side by side, and the small scale allows the owners themselves to closely oversee the work.
The vineyards include cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, carménère, petit verdot, merlot, malbec and grenache, as well as sauvignon blanc. The visit walks through the vines and the cellar and ends with a guided tasting, with explanations in Spanish and English.
Because of its proximity, it's the easiest winery to fit into a day in Santa Cruz: you can visit the museum in the morning and walk or take a short taxi ride there after lunch. There is a picnic area and wine by the glass for those who prefer a stop without a full tour.
