About Plaza de Armas de Santa Cruz

The Plaza de Armas is Santa Cruz's meeting point. The town's central streets are organized from it, and around it are restaurants, shops and the town's parish church. Shaded benches, flowerbeds and fountains make the plaza the place where locals and visitors spend the late afternoon.

The most visible landmark is the carillon tower, built in 1970, which houses a tourist information center. Next to it is the Parroquia La Santa Cruz de Colchagua, the church that gives the town its name. A few steps away, along Avenida Errázuriz, are the Museo de Colchagua and a fountain dedicated to the harvest.

In March, the square hosts the Fiesta de la Vendimia de Colchagua, with winery stalls, typical food, crafts and performances. Outside that time, the atmosphere is calm, like an agricultural inland town, and the plaza serves as the starting point for those heading to the museum or the wineries.
