About Playa Reñaca

Reñaca is the beach neighborhood north of Viña del Mar, about 7 km from the center. The sand is wide and opens onto the Pacific, and behind it the buildings climb the slope in terraces, like a concrete staircase facing the sea.

In summer, Reñaca draws a young crowd, with surf schools, board rentals and kiosks. The beach sectors are numbered, which helps when arranging meetups.

Avenida Borgoño runs behind the sand and follows the coast to Concón, with viewpoints and fishermen's coves along the way. Out of season, the beach is almost empty and is good for long walks.

As with the rest of the central coast, the water is cold and the waves can be strong; swimming only takes place in lifeguarded areas.
