The city

The local experience
The church in Viana's town center preserves the memory of the Azorean settlers who built it between 1815 and 1817. The monument was listed by the Conselho Estadual de Cultura. Interior visits require an appointment and must respect religious celebrations.

The Araçatiba ensemble brings together the 18th-century Jesuit church and the interpretation center installed after restoration. The visit covers the history of the former fazenda and the community. The temple and interpretation spaces count as a single attraction; guided tours can be scheduled.

In the Jucu neighborhood, the ruins preserve traces of the temple built in 1780 and damaged by a fire in the 19th century. The heritage site has paved access and an outdoor area prepared for visitation. The visit allows observation of the church's remaining structure.
Discover Ruínas da Igreja Nossa Senhora de Belém
The Mirante da Biquinha occupies the site of an old fountain, next to the BR-262. Built in 1857, it offers views of the valleys and mountains of Viana. It is an outdoor landscape stop, separate from the churches and the Araçatiba complex.
