Tibagi – PR Destination Campos Gerais
How to get there
The PR-340 connects Tibagi to Castro and the Telêmaco Borba corridor. Guartelá requires a dedicated turn-off from the highway and an unpaved final stretch to the reception.
How many days
Allow one day for Guartelá and another day if you include the town and its confirmed cultural visits.
When to go
July and August tend to have less rain than January in Tibagi, with lower temperatures. March, April and September are alternatives for hikes; trail conditions should be confirmed with the park reception.
The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.
Do you need a car?
A car or shared transport makes access between the town center and Guartelá easier. Trails inside the unit follow different requirements than travel along the PR-340.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Cânion do Guartelá formed by the Rio Tibagi?
The canyon visited in the park follows the Rio Iapó. The city of Tibagi is connected to a different watercourse, the river that gives it its name.
Do the basic trail and the rock paintings routes have the same organization?
The park sets its own routes and requirements. The trip to the rock paintings requires a guide and prior arrangement with those responsible.
Is the access to the park fully paved?
The route uses the PR-340 and an unpaved final detour. Include that stretch in your transport and confirm conditions before going.
How to continue to Telêmaco Borba?
Follow the road branch along the PR-340 and the PR-160 connection, separate from the park access detour.
