Barra do Piraí – RJ Destination Vale do Café
How to get there
BR-393 and RJ-145 are part of the access routes to Barra do Piraí. For Ipiabas and for the fazendas, get specific directions for each point before leaving the town.
How many days
Two or three days cover the center, scheduled rural visits and Ipiabas. Do not schedule two fazendas for the same period without knowing the duration and access of each visit.
When to go
Fazendas receive visitors according to their schedule. For the Cachoeira de Ipiabas, prefer stable conditions and give up access if there is a warning of heavy rain or if the trail is difficult.
Do you need a car?
The cathedral area can be visited on foot as part of a central walk. Fazenda da Taquara, São João da Prosperidade and Ipiabas require transport between distant points.
