- Parque Aldeia do Imigrante Opened in 1985 on a 10-hectare site, it recreates a German settler village with half-timbered buildings. There's a chapel, a parish house, a dance hall, a blacksmith shop, a school, a cemetery and a history museum.
- Labirinto Verde Opened in 1989 next to Praça das Flores, it's 28 meters across, with cypress walls over 2 meters high. The layout was inspired by the maze in Schönbusch Park, in Aschaffenburg, Germany.
- Ninho das Águias A municipal free-flight ramp opened in 1989, it sits at 684 meters above sea level, about 4 kilometers from the center. The viewpoint offers a 270-degree view over the Vale do Caí.
- Pinheiro Multissecular The Linha Imperial araucaria is 35 meters tall and 2 meters in diameter, the second largest in the state by that measure. A tourist attraction since 1998, it was listed as a municipal natural heritage site in 2023.
When to go
The International Folklore Festival takes place in July and is the town's best-known event. Winter is cold. In spring, the gardens and Praça das Flores are in bloom.
How many days to stay
One day covers the town. Nova Petrópolis is usually a stop on the way between Porto Alegre and Gramado.
