Paracuru – CE Destination Jericoacoara and the West Coast of Ceará
How to get there
Leave the CE-085 via the CE-341 access to Paracuru. Bica, Pedra Rachada and Barra do Rio Curu have their own arrival points in addition to the town entrance.
How many days
Allow two days to visit the waterfront near the center, Pedra Rachada and the Barra do Curu area. Dune trips or visits to lagoons require additional access planning.
When to go
Rain is more common between February and May. July to December generally makes planning outdoor trips easier, with less rain; the tide should guide which beach and reef sections to visit.
The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.
Do you need a car?
Praia da Bica can be combined with the urban center. Pedra Rachada and Barra do Curu require transport and specific access; do not plan all the beaches as a single walk.

Frequently asked questions
Which beach is close to the urban center?
Bica allows organizing a visit alongside the central area. The more distant beaches have different entrances and transfers.
How to visit Barra do Curu?
Choose a recognized land access and check the tide. The beach and the estuary form the same visiting environment.
Does Lagoa Grande have free access from any shore?
Confirm an authorized access point before planning the trip. The presence of the lagoon in the municipality does not mean every shore is open to visitors.
Do I need to go onto the reefs to see Pedra Rachada?
The landscape can be observed from the beach. Any activity among rocks depends on the tide and local guidance.
