An open-sea beach area on the ocean front, one of the most popular stretches for surfers on the Paraná coast. It is part of the town's roughly 23 kilometers of coastline, divided into dozens of beach areas.
The town's most built-up beach area, with a seafront promenade and shops clustered near the beach. It draws big crowds of vacationers in season, from December to March.
Made up of the Grapirá, Três Picos and Filhote islands, it holds one of the region's main frigatebird nesting colonies, as well as boobies, gulls and terns. Managed by ICMBio, it allows guided boat trips and diving, with landing only by permit.
