About Praia de Shangri-lá

Shangri-lá is one of the beach areas of Pontal do Paraná, on the town's open-sea coast, between Ipanema and Pontal do Sul. The town has about 23 kilometers of coastline, divided into dozens of beach areas, and Shangri-lá is one of the best known.

Its fame comes from the waves. It is one of the stretches that draws the most surfers on the Paraná coast, and it has hosted rounds of surf contests.

The beach is wide, with light sand and restinga (coastal scrub) separating the sand from the streets. You reach it by paths from the neighborhood's streets of vacation homes and low buildings.

Since it is open sea, the water is rougher than in Pontal do Sul. If you go with children, stay near the lifeguard stations and avoid swimming in unguarded stretches.
