Seabra – BA Destination Chapada Diamantina

How to get there

The BR-242 crosses Seabra's urban corridor. The BA-148 connects the municipality to routes to the south and to Boninal; the Igreja Bom Jesus is reached via the local streets of the center.

How many days

A day can separate a walk in the urban core from a visit to the exterior of the Igreja Bom Jesus. For the Boninal and Iraquara branches, plan separate journeys.

When to go

From May to September, Seabra generally has less rain. November to April is the rainiest period in the municipality's climate records. Urban walks require attention to sun exposure and the condition of access routes.

The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.

Do you need a car?

Part of the central visit can be done on foot, with local transport to reach more distant points. The Boninal branch and the routes to the caves of Iraquara require road transport arrangements.

Frequently asked questions

What distinguishes the Igreja Bom Jesus?

The use of rose quartz is part of its architecture. The visit can begin with the exterior and the urban surroundings.

Can Seabra serve as a transport base?

Its position on the BR-242 corridor and the connection to the BA-148 help organize routes from the west. Check the services of your chosen transport before making connections.

Do Seabra and Boninal share the same municipal seat?

They are separate municipalities. The branch via the BA-148 requires its own outbound and return trip.

How to include the caves of Iraquara?

Arrange regional travel to Iraquara and the specific approach to the chosen cave, in addition to the journey to the municipal seat.
