How to get there
Ituaçu's town center is accessed via the BA-142 corridor. The Gruta da Mangabeira uses a local access point outside the center; arrange the arrival point with the chosen reception.
How many days
One day allows dedicating one stage to the Gruta da Mangabeira and another to the urban core. Circulation in the cave requires reserving the time slot provided by the visit guide.
When to go
Between May and September it usually rains less in the southern Chapada. From November to April, rainfall generally increases. At the cave, circulation conditions must be confirmed with those responsible before departure.
The seasons shown are the most usual ones; nature doesn't always follow the calendar.
Do you need a car?
Road transport makes it easy to connect the town center to the Gruta da Mangabeira. The internal visit involves walking, on terrain different from the streets and the road.
