Porto Amazonas preserves the connection with steam navigation on the Rio Iguaçu. the former port function and the railway corridor are part of the town's development, in the access between Lapa and the Campos Gerais. On the Rota dos Tropeiros, the PR-427 reaches the junction with the BR-277, which connects the section toward Palmeira.
