About Ponte de Pedra

The Ponte de Pedra spans the Arroio Feitoria on Rua Alberto Rübenich in Dois Irmãos. Built in 1855, it uses sandstone and arches that support the deck. The structure was part of the road that linked São Leopoldo to the Serra and brought residents of Travessão Rübenich closer to the town center.

The visit consists of observing the structure and the bridge’s relationship with the stream. The profile of the arches and the fitting of the stones help recognize a construction technique that marked the region’s earliest roads. For photographing, look for a permitted spot on the bank or in the surrounding urban area, without descending the slopes or occupying the roadway. This is a short outdoor heritage stop; after rain, check access conditions before leaving.
