Rio dos Cedros – SC Destination Vale Europeu

How to get there

To reach the town seat of Rio dos Cedros, plan your trip via the road network of the Vale Europeu. Alto Cedros and Palmeiras require continuing on rural access roads, which should be checked before leaving the urban area.

How many days

Set aside two days for the Região dos Lagos and the immigration heritage. Visiting both reservoirs involves travel through the highlands; adding Morro São Bernardo requires an additional slot in the itinerary.

When to go

In the Região dos Lagos, drier periods make it easier to travel dirt access roads. Fog can obscure Morro São Bernardo, while the Festa Trentina should be considered only with confirmed scheduling.

Do you need a car?

The Represa do Pinhal and Represa do Rio Bonito are not next to the urban museum. To visit these places outside the bicycle circuit, a car or hired transport makes rural travel easier.

Frequently asked questions

Are Alto Cedros and Palmeiras separate municipalities?

They are localities of Rio dos Cedros. Alto Cedros identifies the area of the Represa do Pinhal; Palmeiras is the reference for the Represa do Rio Bonito.

Why does Rio dos Cedros reappear on the circuit?

The initial passage reaches the municipal seat, while other stages traverse the Região dos Lagos. That return to the territory does not necessarily mean returning to the urban center.

Do the lake shores have public access at any point?

The presence of the reservoirs does not authorize entry onto private land. Look for permitted access points and follow local guidance for observation or water activities.

What experiences does the Museu da Imigração cover?

Its collection brings together items associated with the settlers' lives, including utensils and tools that help understand the memory of Rio dos Cedros' population.
